IL Nimmo
Born in Upper Ferntree Gully, Victoria, on the 8th of February 1947 and Died on the 8th February 2008 in his beloved hometown of Geelong, Victoria.
Affectionately known as Ivan "The Artist", Ivan had the ability to capture the essence of the great Australian
landscape on canvas from the age of 12. Ivan was influenced by the great Australian Masters, Frederick McCubbin and Tom Roberts.
A prolific painter, Ivan has over 2000 known works throughout Australia, with a large majority
based in Victoria.Ivan often donated paintings to charities and sports clubs for fundraising events.
As a much sought after artist, his paintings have been purchased by former Australian Prime Ministers and State Premiers, including Bob Hawke and Andrew Peacock.
DJ Nimmo
Born in Melbourne, Victoria, on the 30th of November 1972. Daren started
painting at the age of 12 under the guidance of his father Ivan.
Encouraged to pursue his passion for drawing and painting, he has
developed his own distinct style. Daren is influenced by his father and the other great Australian Masters Frederick McCubbin and Tom Roberts. He is inspired by the great Masters Monet and Turner.
Daren plans to dedicate an art gallery in honour of his late father at the Canberra International Airport. The Nimmo Art Gallery will house a large collection of original oil paintings by Ivan and Daren Nimmo. The Gallery will also represent some of Australia's top artists, including Graham Charlton, Truda D'Onofrio-Ward, Ritchey Sealy and Jan Vincent.
